...far too quickly for me. It seems like only yesterday I was scurrying and hurrying to get to the Spring Quilt Market in Portland, and now summer is in full swing here at Shepler Studios.
Quilt Market was incredible. Although I’ve been to several Quilt Festivals, this was my first time to Market. As a trade show, Quilt Market isn’t open to the general public. Attendees are quilt shop owners, designers, authors, publishers and others working in the quilting and sewing industry. New fabrics, patterns and products are introduced, orders are placed and contacts made. I was lucky to attend with several friends who are old pros at navigating the never-ending aisles of vendors and exhibits–my head was swimming by the end of the first day! I’m still in awe of the amount of information available, and my friends’ abilities at keeping everyone and everything straight.
I came home with a bag bulging with ideas and inspirations, and have been researching ‘areas of interest’ (also known as Fun Things I Want to Try). If you get a chance to go to Market, I say, “Go!” You’ll have a great time. I did.
