If you’re from Chillicothe, Illinois, you might want to take a closer look at this in-progress quilt. Some the fabrics in those patches may look familiar. I use ‘found fabrics’–cast off cottons, discarded denims and more when designing stitched items. I love the thought of giving a second life to something that might otherwise be thrown away. It’s one small way I can contribute to a greener world.
Some of the fabrics in this quilt came from garage sales and fabric swaps right here in Chillicothe. So, if a certain patch reminds you of a favorite shirt you used to own…it might be just that! Cut up, quilted and useful once again.

This quilt, and many other art items, will be raffled during the August 2008 Heritage Days celebration at Three Sisters Park.
