Scraps of Chillicothe

scrap pile

If you’re from Chillicothe, Illinois, you might want to take a closer look at this in-progress quilt. Some the fabrics in those patches may look familiar. I use ‘found fabrics’–cast off cottons, discarded denims and more when designing stitched items. I love the thought of giving a second life to something that might otherwise be thrown away. It’s one small way I can contribute to a greener world.

Some of the fabrics in this quilt came from garage sales and fabric swaps right here in Chillicothe. So, if a certain patch reminds you of a favorite shirt you used to own…it might be just that! Cut up, quilted and useful once again.
